Emoji Cafe

In our most recent happening, Dada and Mimi were invited to the soft opening of a friend’s café, Emoji Café. It has a prime location considering that it is just right across a High School and the only standing café along a 4-block radius.

Jose Mari who is a dear friend and part owner of the café is also in charge with its affordable yet scrumptious menu. He did managed to maintain an affordable price considering the market he is gaining for who happens to be teens and those teens at heart.

The interior of the café has a very cozy feel with its orange and brown theme along with the dramatic lights. In addition, the café has a smoking area where you can sit, smoke, drink coffee and read. It also offers free Wi-Fi to its customers, which I think, is a plus point given that we are in the era of Social Media, Facobook, Twitter lada, lada.

As for the pricing, iced / frappe coffee range from Php 59 to Php 89 pesos, which is very affordable compared to the other commercial coffee shops. Part of their offering is breakfast menu like pancakes, bacon, pasta, sandwiches and cupcakes that range from Php 79 to Php 129. Moreover, they have some membership type of card that will allow you to get freebies on your 3rd, 5th visit, conditions may apply.

Now for the taste, if you thought that just because its variety is offered cheaper that the taste is compromised then you’d be surprised. Their Java Chip coffee that was part of our palette’s taste-test is great, same goes for their raspberry iced tea. On the other hand, Dada got fond of their Macchiato that has a strong bitter taste with a bit of caramel that serve as the main sugar on the drink.

Overall, I think that if you are close by or nearby Binondo it will not hurt to pay Emoji Café a visit. A newborn coffee shop who is inspired by a mix of Singaporean and Filipino taste that offers an affordable yet delectable coffee with a cozy ambiance.
