Anniversary Idea: Keeping the fire going at LANCASTER HOTEL

Some couples may lose the spark without even knowing that they are already losing it.
And that is merely unintentional but sometimes circumstances as you go along together may change, like having a baby, planning for the future, trying to be caught up with the bills, tuition fees, nanny’s fees, car mortgage etc. that we just lose the time of togetherness. It is always not about cheating but sometimes being unable to talk to the person you are with or being unable to reach out and share sentiments together can kill that fire too.

The Sala
Luckily, this is not the case for Dada. I think she is the sweetest person I’ve ever met and I guess this is why we have been together for really a while now. Lucky me!

Dada on our 13th year anniversary made some plans for us to spend a night at Lancaster Hotel located at Shaw Blvd. She have been searching for an affordable hotel rate in the web for weeks and it seemed that she have found what she was looking for with this hotel. Despite the many negative reviews from unclean windows, noisy location, etc. she pushed thru with the booking. Well, she is just really optimistic like that. For Php 3,100 inclusive of fees and taxes she got a 1-BR suite from the hotel with free buffet breakfast. The hotel room has its own kitchen and you can request to have the microwave and the electric kettle from the receptionist to be brought up to the room. I guess those appliances are being shared between the hotel rooms so you need to very specific to then when you are about to check in.

Bedside Table
The room is really nice. It has a cozy feeling with all the dim lights. Windows are unclean and a little bit noisy but that is because the location of the hotel is along the main street. Pollution and all. I think what is more important is the inside of the room which I am giving a 5-star as it is well-kept. The kitchen has working stove too which you can request to be turned on thru the receptionist. It even have plates, utensils and glasses. Just bring your own dishwashing soap just to make sure that you can clean them before and after using although you can request someone from service to do that for you. :)

The Tub
The hotel also has a mini swimming pool at the rooftop where you will have  a pleasant site of the entire Mandaluyong. You would see different Skyscrapers, Buildings, Condominiums, a view of the sky, birds, etc.

Our Anniversary Dinner were some pizza, soup, salad, chips and wine which we bought from S&R Shaw Blvd.

Some of our family and friends also stopped by to celebrate with us until we called it a night.

Following morning, we went down for our Buffet breakfast and I think the choices you have there is not that many but it is enough. What we really enjoyed is their coffee. By far, I think their hotel is serving the best brewed coffee. We even ended up asking where they are buying their coffee beans from. We had some pork, some salad, Dada’s favorite French toast and a lot more

A slice of Starbucks' Cake from a friend

It was really nice spending that time with her, we shared stories, reminisce how we met and fooled around a little bit. Hehehe!

She even got to surprise me with flowers and a box of Ferrero chocolates which is my favorite. How can I be this lucky? :)

Flowers and Chocolates

Overall, our staycation was a very delightful experience. It was really nice to have that moment with your other half after a busy week at work. Just you and her. Rather than going out for a fancy dinner we just opted to a simple staycation at Lancaster Hotel with a romantic vibe that can keep that fire lighten.

How about you? What’s your idea for an Anniversary Date?
